Picture this: You're surfing on your school library's computers when your friend sends you a link to a file. "Its awesome", he says. Unfortunately, the file happens to be in the .rar format; the school computer doesn't have Winrar installed, and you don't have the admin rights to do so. Now do you give up and view the file at home, or find a loophole somewhere like any normal computer enthusiast? We're guessing the latter.
Enter Wobzip, an online service specially designed to help you decompress files online.
The easy to use Wobzip interface offers you a single dialog box: upload the file from a local hard drive on your computer or click on the "Uncompress from a URL" link to directly decompress a file from an online source instead."
Once you're done, click on the Wobzip! button, and go get a coffee. You're then greeted with the list of files inside the archive, as well as the option to download the whole list of files inside a .zip archive, which Windows XP offers native support for. Its a simple and easy way to extract the file you want if you do not have any suitable decompression tools installed on your computer.
This useful tool can also be used in the presence of a highly restrictive firewall/proxy that blocks compressed files.
